 Brammo Empulse RR This sequence shows the company’s designer and test rider Brian Wismann riding the Brammo Empulse RR through Thunderhill’s Cyclone. Brammo Empulse RR is preparing for the 2011 race season, which will see it compete against bikes like the Mission R and possibly the MotoCzysz E1pc as well as some as-yet-unseen hotness from an contributor. As we head up to the Brammo Empulse RR Sonoma track for the weekend, Asphalt & Rubber should get some more glimpses of the electric race bike, and bring you the first photos of it lapping the raceway-formerly-known-as-Sears-Point. We should also be getting our first glimpses of the Lightning Motors machines, but unfortunately will only be seeing the Mission in the paddock, as Mission Motors has decided not to race this weekend.

 Brammo Empulse RR to grab these pictures at Laguna Seca last weekend. What they reveal is an electric race bike that’s shockingly similar in configuration to the 2010 E1pc. We’re not suggesting that one rips off the other, instead it looks like two companies have independently come to similar conclusions about the best possible configuration for an electric race.

Brammo Empulse RR is expected to draw some attention with the race-spec version of its newly unveiled Brammo Empulse RR. Former AMA Superstock champion Aaron Gobert will pilot Brammo Empulse RR entry.Electric motorcycle manufacturer Brammo Empulse RR has signed a deal to provide race-ready rides for the electric racing series for the 2013 season. The bike will be a souped-up version of the Brammo Empulse RR says we’ll see within months.

  The Sapa aluminum swingarm on the Brammo Empulse RR at Laguna is massive and is no doubt as rigid as it looks. Bramscher says this unit will probably end up on the Empulse production bike. It is easier to see in the picture below but the Brammo Empulse RR Laguna swingarm pivot is much further forward than the Brammo Empulse RR meaning the geometry is totally different.

Due to the mechanical issue at Laguna, Brammo Empulse RR was forced to wait quite a while for its second crack at racing glory. The Brammo Empulse RR on-track public debut was pushed back further and further as they continued to try and fix the motor issues, eventually making headway with the unit's producer Parker as the 2010 season was coming to a close. This meant that the earliest they could go racing would the opening round of the 2011 Series.

  Once racing started to look more and more likely, this meant they needed to find a rider that was crazy,  stupid, brave (yeah, that's it) enough to sit aboard the hand-built prototype machine while they pushed it as close as possible to the point of meltdown. Using parts originally designed to power mundane production line robots that are now attached directly to the rear wheel spinning at mph-plus sounds like a daring part-time job.

Sitting outside of Brammo Empulse RR in Ashland, here’s the first photo of the Brammo Empulse RRin its 2011 livery. The green, white, and black paint scheme is a welcomed change from the red we’ve seen on the Brammo Empulse RR in the past, and should make it easy to spot the Brammo Empulse RRat Infineon this weekend, as Steve Atlas will be vying for the top step against the other five bikes that will be on the grid.

 I’ll be honest, when I read tweets from Laguna Seca saying Brammo Empulse RRhad a shot at beating MotoCzysz or even Lightning I was thinkin“wow, that is a very nice thing to say when the bike Brammo Empulse RR scrambled to prep for the race broke down and you knowBrammo Empulse RR Craig is listenin no chance.” Then I saw some tweets that made me think twice.

Successfully finishing both nine-laps races of the opening round of the 2011 Series at Infineon Raceway marked the completion of a goal that took quite a bit longer, and surely cost a heck of a lot more, than any of the guys at upstart electric motorcycle manufacturer Brammo Empulse RR had ever expected. But now, with the event in the books, I’d wager not one of them doubts whether it was worth the countless hours of hard work and staggering amount of money spent (except maybe their accountant).

We did have a small snafu with the Dunlop tires we were sent. The Brammo Empulse RR machines works best on their  slick, which was designed for the previous class. But with that dissolving several years ago, these tires are relatively limited in quantify and some are quite old. The two sets we had been shipped were made back in 2007, and the first pair we tried to mount wouldn't bead up and hold air.

  Brammo Empulse RR Even if the second pair would bead, using a four-year-old tire just didn't sound safe. With Dunlop on hand they were able to swap a set out for new tires, but the smaller tire they had on the truck was a  slick. So we opted for the bigger tire, but soon found the only way to make it fit in the swingarm was to use a two-tooth smaller rear sprocket.
