Alfa Romeo Mito
The name Mito combining the first letters of Milan (where Alfa Romeo was born) and Turin (where the cars are currently being made).
Alfa Romeo has apparently been hiding things from us, as shown in those artist renderings. The Italian outfit owned by Fiat Group, is working on the MINI down on their knees with a second onslaught - for 500 - with something called Mito, which is a combination of the names of Milan and Turin (Torino to Italians).
Alfa's awaited SuperMini is a sporty three-door hatch as it claims "packs all Alfa's cultural heritage and spirit of a four-metre long." If all goes as planned it is also true beginning of the company's struggle to double its volume to 300000 in the coming years.
Although the reports claim the suspension is not as sophisticated as competitors, traditionally Alfas have been very strong in the handling department, if not elsewhere. Other additional models will include cabrio, a wagon, and perhaps even a small SUV. Strong indications point to the sale begins at the end of 2008 with gradual worldwide rollout run until 2009 for the first variant.
