2012 New Mini Coupe Released At Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS) 2011 Southern Africa
Two years ago a concept car, Mini Coupe, previewing a two-seater Coupé from the MINI brand turned heads aplenty at the Frankfurt Motor Show. That vision has now become a reality and the Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS) 2011 Southern Africa provided the stage for the African premiere of the Mini Coupé.The new Mini Coupe will come sporting an entire lineup of four cylinder engines ranging from the base Coupe with 121 HP up to the John Cooper Works Coupe with 208 HP. It will also be the fastest-accelerating MINI ever with the highest top speed. The JCW Coupe, for example, will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds and will be capable of a top speed of 149 mph.
The Mini Coupé features some interesting design cues - most notably the strange roof design - that haven’t been seen on any Mini before. The top of the range model will have the same 1,6-litre 155 kW/260 N.m engine as found in the Cooper JCW.
The Mini Coupé goes on sale in South Africa after JIMS at the following prices:
Price (incl. VAT)
Mini Cooper Coupé R264 000
Mini Cooper S Coupé R319 000
Mini John Cooper Works Coupé R369 000
