Ray was a bidder at the Mecum Auction, and he was so inspired by Bailey's Cafe that he told Leno during the auction that he'd bid $5,000 for a Yamaha R1 Guitar if Yamaha R1 would donate it and Leno would sign it. Of course, the two parties happily obliged and Bailey's Cafe received the proceeds.

The latest avatar of Yamaha R1superbike series is the Yamaha R1 litre class motorbike. Yamaha's Yamaha R1 will gain a six-mode MotoGP-developed Traction Control System (TCS) for the 2012 model year, along with a new ECU (Engine Control Unit) with new mapping. It's the only real change to the Yamaha R1 for next year though, and Yamaha's premier sports bike will again be the heaviest of the liter bikes.

For 2012, Yamaha R1 will offer the bike in a limited-edition Pearl White/Rapid Red color scheme taking directly from the 50th Anniversary bikes used in 2011 MotoGP by Yamaha R1 Factory Racing pilots Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies (shown in pic above); but limited means limited, and only 2000 will be produced in 50th Anniversary colors.
